THE PATCHWORK GIRL OF OZ has been officially announced!
Image Comics will be publishing my adaptation of L. Frank Baum's classic novel starting January 22, 2025, when Issue #1 hits the stands.
I couldn't be more excited! I didn't intend for this to be published by Image (or anyone else) when I started the comic. It was meant to be a newsletter-exclusive, web comic, and then maybe published in print as a self-published series of books. But I'm thrilled that Image decided to accept my pitch and put out this series.
Thank you all for your support over the last couple of years while I've been working on this comic. I hope you'll pick up Issue #1 when it comes out and tell all your friends and family who love stories about the Land of Oz.
Here is the official announcement from Image Comics!
And here is something you can print out (in black & white or color) and take to your local comic shop to pre-order issue number one:
Pre-orders are very important in the comic book business.
When someone pre-orders a comic, it tells the comic shop owner that there is interest in a comic book series and that they should order more copies. So please help me outβ¦
Pre-order THE PATCHWORK GIRL OF OZ issue #1 and spread the word!

I'd like to send a special thank you out to Merlee for being my Substack newsletter's first paid subscriber! I had been holding off on allowing paid subscriptions because I wasn't putting out the newsletter regularly. But when this person pledged a paid subscription, I decided that since there was interest, I'd click that button in the settings and allow people to throw me a few bucks if they wanted to. Thank you so much, Merlee!
Yesterday being Halloween, Iβd like to share something with you!
Over the last two years Iβve been working on pieces with kids in costume called βHalloweenies.β I was hoping to do a few more last month, but deadlines got in the way.
Anyway, here are the ones I have finished. Enjoy, and I hope everyone had a fun Halloween!
Subscribe now so you donβt miss an issue of ESCAPE With Otis Frampton!
In the meantime, tell your friends!
Good luck with it all Otis! It all looks amazing. Loving the Halloweenies too. Great work!
